Direct Cremation

We are well-equipped to assist you in organising a direct cremation at a crematorium located in South East London. Direct cremation is a straightforward and minimalist choice, ideally suited for individuals who prefer a simple and unceremonious arrangement. It’s also a practical option for those who plan to hold a memorial or celebration of life at a later time, allowing for greater flexibility in the commemoration of their loved one’s life. No service or attendance starts from £995.

What is a direct cremation?

A direct cremation is a simple and straightforward cremation process that takes place without a traditional funeral service or any attendees present.

The cremation itself is conducted at either the Honor Oak or Hither Green Crematorium, located in South East London.

The date and time for the cremation will be carefully chosen by our team, and it won’t be possible for friends and family to attend in person.

If you prefer a direct cremation at another crematorium in London, we are more than capable of accommodating your wishes and can guide you through the process.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for a personalised discussion.

In our first meeting, we’ll thoroughly discuss all aspects of the funeral and complete the necessary paperwork. You will receive attentive care from one of our seasoned funeral directors, ensuring you have ample time to address any concerns or questions you may have.
  • Our care and attention throughout the arrangements, including unlimited support.
  • Support and guidance to carry the coffin yourself (if permitted by the cemetery or crematorium) or use of our professional bearers

The expense associated with cremation or burial is categorised as a disbursement, representing a third-party cost that we cover on your behalf prior to the funeral proceedings.

Cremation
You’re not restricted to choosing a crematorium local to you. The expenses for cremation in London exhibit considerable variability, with costs ranging from £585 to upwards of £1000. Additional charges are applicable for extended service durations and services held during the weekends. Generally, early morning services tend to be more cost-effective.

Traditional Burial
The cost of a conventional burial in Greater London exhibits significant variation, primarily dependent on the cemetery of your choice and your residency within the borough. Fees differ considerably across London, ranging from approximately £2200 to around £25,000 (in locations such as Highgate and Kensal Green). Feel free to inquire, and we’ll provide tailored guidance.

Woodland & Natural Burial
Woodland and natural burial sites offer an exquisite departure from the conventional cemetery setting. In some natural burial grounds, you may have the option for a modest marker at the gravesite, while others promote the notion that the departed becomes an integral part of the natural surroundings. London is fortunate to have several accessible woodland and natural burial grounds, nestled in serene and picturesque locations.

We have a range of beautifully designed, well-crafted and ethically sourced and produced coffins for you to choose from.

Every aspect of the funeral can be tailored to your preferences. Customise your choices, from the type of funeral vehicles, which range from traditional hearses to limousines, horses, camper vans, and many other options available.

You have the freedom to select the type of ceremony you desire and decide who will preside over it. Options include choosing a faith leader, religious minister, celebrant, or even leading the funeral yourself.

Funerals are not bound by a specific structure or format, and a formal service is not mandatory. You can choose to play a cherished song repeatedly or sit in quiet reflection if that aligns with your wishes.

The process of crafting a ceremony can be quite meaningful, involving the sharing of stories with friends and family, composing a tribute, selecting an appropriate poem or reading, and gathering photographs to share with others – each element holds significance.

Our commitment is to operate with a strong focus on ethics and transparency. Throughout our history, we have consistently provided a comprehensive list of our services, ensuring that you are fully informed about what to anticipate.

Full payment is required prior to the commencement of the funeral service. Payment can be made via bank transfer.

Alternatively, funeral expenses may be covered from the deceased’s estate by presenting the funeral invoice and an original death certificate to the bank. It is essential that payment is settled in full before the funeral proceeds.

Please be aware that we retain the right to impose interest at a rate of 1.5% compounded per month on all outstanding accounts beyond the due date. Any expenses incurred in the process of recovering unpaid accounts will be billed to the debtor.
